DECA @ Laurier DECA @ Laurier is run through a student executive team with the assistance of Mr. Yip. There are four departments in DECA; human resources, marketing, publications and information technology. Each department is in charge of various roles and responsibilities throughout DECA’s events & activities during the school year. Each department consists of one or two managers and assistants. All executive roles are assigned through an interview process at the start of the school year. DECA @ Laurier strives to bring Laurier students valuable information on the business world. This includes, business university information, various business skills such as marketing, stock market and investment. Of course, DECA also hosts fundraising events such as bake sales and shop for support. All of DECA’s events and activities are listed in the events section of the site

DECA Case Study Competition. One of the highlights of the year is the DECA Case Study Competition. In these competition students, not necessarily part of the executive team, get a business case and get in between 10 and 30 minutes to prepare for a presentation to a judge in a roll-play. Students are marked based on the performance indicators of the case, the students who do the best win a medal and a certificate. The best 30% in each catagory have the chance to compete provincaly and internationaly. |
