February was a very busy month for all DECA members, competitors and executives alike. Some major events were being arranged throughout the month. The executives organized an award ceremony to honour the winners of the Shop and Support fundraiser. They were extremely happy to receive certificates and cheques.Also, the contestants were working hard for the Provincials. This year it was held at the stylish, five-star Sheraton Hotel. The competitors presented their skills in the Grand Ballroom in hopes of qualifying for Internationals in Florida. The financial department put together a bake sale to promote and support DECA. It was full of delicious brownies and cupcakes and helped raise a considerable amount of money. All in all DECA had a successful month continuing to grow in business and knowledge.

DECA Regional Competition 2010.

Laurier welcomed back a 2nd successful year of DECA. 31 Laurier students met at Ryerson University on Saturday November, 6th, 2010. Competeing against hundreds across the district!

Upon arrival, Students registered at either the Ted Rogers management building or the Engineering building and were guided to their designated room where students had a chance to prep for their case study and a chance to met other competitors.

Students were then taken to different area where their case study was given to them. Depending on category, students were given 10-30 minutes to complete and create a scenario for their case studies. Students presented their case-studies to judge who actually worked in the field of the category.

After presenting it was finally over and first time DECA competitors who started out nervous left with a smile on their face!

DECA was not only an event to the Students but a great opportunity and experience!!
